My SURYA I presented at NEXUS-2009. I used zener diode solar engine circuit.Machine Parts:
- Zener Diode Solar engine circuit with 4700uF capacitor.
- 5V/150mA Solar Panel (6.5cm x 7.5cm).
- Plastic wheels from a toy car (Diameter = 2.5cm).
- Small DC motor from Walkman (2V/120mA).
- Body made by wire. (tough aluminium wire).
- Front Wheel: I used a thin Black Pulley (It was not efficient).

Solar Roller is a beam-dragster robot that utilizes sunlight as a source of energy. Mostly in all solar competitions this being quite a popular event, wherein two solar bots are placed side by side on a track and they have to travel a distance of 1 meter in shortest time using light source coming from overhead high watt bulbs. So, let’s try and build a simple solar roller.

A SOLAR Engine PrototypeThis is a Zener based SE. This design uses a Zener diode as means of determining the trigger voltage. The reverse bias operating voltage of the Zener is used as means of triggering point in the circuit. You can also use LED’s or diodes in series to accomplish the same trigger voltage.

Yes the robot is a wall climbing robot, it was a good example of wall climber so published it, I have not worked on such kind of application so can't help you much, although will provide you with certain info on this if i managed to do so.
